Family Matters Radio is an informative, entertaining and inspiring talk radio program focused on issues concerning women and families. FMR features nationally-known experts, best-selling authors, newsmakers and celebrities in friendly conversation, sharing expert advice to help us all raise healthy families and special insight on the experience of being a woman in today's world. Developed and hosted by broadcast media veterans and long-time friends Caroline Kruse and Jacquie Chakirelis, the program is celebrating its 10th year on the air on both AM and FM stations around the country and via podcasts internationally.
Women are living longer. Today, the average life expectancy at birth is 79.4 years for women and 73.9 years for men. Life expectancy is expected to increase into the next century, and it is likely to increase at a slightly higher rate among women. But lack of planning for the senior years has had a detrimental affect on women particularly. Did you know that more than 70% of all elderly persons with incomes below the poverty level are women?
The good news is that more attention is being paid to the issue and more companies are providing educational opportunities and tools to help women understand long term financial issues and empower their decisions. Caroline and Jacquie talk with Pam Schutz, Genworth Financial's Executive Vice President of Retirement Protection about building financial security and retirement paychecks you won't outlive.
